UW-Stevens Point sponsoring Educator Tent, activities at MREA Energy Fair

STEVENS POINT — The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will take part in the Midwest Renewable Energy Association’s 29th annual Energy Fair in Custer, Wis., June 15-17.

Representatives from the College of Natural Resources, College of Professional Studies, Admissions, Continuing Education and Natural History Museum will be on-hand throughout the weekend.

Water specialists from UW-Stevens Point’s Center for Watershed Science and Education will test well water for nitrates, the most common health-related contaminant found in Wisconsin groundwater. Bring a sample of your well water to booth 67 any day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education (WCEE) is hosting the Educator Tent, featuring hands-on demonstrations and displays for educators and community members.

The fair, held at 7558 Deer Road, Custer, is open 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 17. It includes keynote speakers, more than 200 exhibitors and 200 workshops, Clean Transportation Show, food, local beverages and entertainment.
