Vanessa Elaine Messing, 3 years old, daughter of Tom and Kelly (DeLange) Messing, Jacksonville, NC, became one of God’s angels on May 31, 2018. While Vanessa was only with us for a very short time her family and friends will miss her bright blue eyes, beautiful smile, curly brown hair and her energetic personality, singing and dancing.

She loved to dress up like a princess and adored unicorns. Her favorite color was purple and she took pride knowing her whole family’s favorite colors.

Vanessa was a big sister to Savanna and Makenna and took that responsibility to heart. She was kind, gentle and generous with them calling them her “sissies”. She led them in prayer and alphabet songs.

Vanessa is further survived by: Great-Grandmothers Elaine Lilyquist, John and Kathy Messing – (Rhinelander), Shirley DeLange – (Rosholt) and Ruth Quinell (Wisconsin Rapids). Grandparents: John and Linda DeLange, (Stevens Point) Tom Messing (Jenny) – Rhinelander, Lori Zimmerman (Jeremy) (Stevens Point). Great Aunts/Uncles: Deb Boyer, Sharon Lilyquist, Cathy (Ken) Richling, Lori (Jeff) Coffman-Gleason, Jim Lilyquist. Aunts/Uncles: Emily Messing, Mary Beth (Tony) Rekowski – Mosinee. Cousins: Josh Boyer, Jasmine Lilyquist, Chloe Moore, Kathleen Rekowski-Mosinee.

Services and cremation were held at Johnson Funeral Home in North Carolina.
