Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf League visits Lake Arrowhead

The Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf League hit the road for a challenging afternoon at Lake Arrowhead Pines course last week. As a group the scores weren’t as good as the league is used to seeing, likely because of the challenging layout and the fact many hadn’t played at the course for some time.

Tom Habel led the way with a fine one over par 73 while other top scores were recorded by Tom Shafranski and Ken Manske with 74s, Charlie Spaar a 77, and Keith Matowitz a 78. Low net scores had Manske at 68, Shafranski 69, Rhody Mallick with a 70 and Matowitz and Spaar at 71.

In team scoring, Two Harps Pub defeated Hilltop Pub & Grill, the Hacker Backers downed Hilltop Too, Big Apple Bagels over Partners Pub, Rookies Sports Pub beat Point After/Cozy Kitchen, Midwest Hardware beat Jordan Bar and Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint won over the Blind Draw.

Following four weeks of play (and two rain/snow outs) Two Harps has the team lead followed by Hilltop Too, Midwest Hardware and Big Apple Bagels are tied for third, Jordan Bar is fifth, Rookies Sports Bar sixth, Point After/Cozy Kitchen seventh, Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint eight, Hacker Backers ninth and tied for 10th are Hilltop Pub & Grill and Partners Pub.

Making a little money this week by winning in the skins game were Richard Ensign, Kyran Knutson, John Haka, Keith Matowitz, Mark Ohlert and Ken Manske. Each pockets $18.

Play resumes this week with a double match at Glacier Wood Golf Course in Iola.
