Culver’s benefit for MS Walk

On June 19, Culver’s of Stevens Point will hold a benefit for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. (M.S.S) From 5PM – 8PM, 10 percent of all sales will go to M.S.S. This is a part of the “Culver’s Cares” campaign. Culver’s in Stevens Point is located at 5346 Highway 10 East.

Tomorrow River Lions/Lioness 16th annual golf outing

The Tomorrow River Lions/Lioness 16th annual golf outing will be held at Glacier Woods Golf Club in Iola on Satutrday, June 23. Registration is at 9AM with a shotgun start at 10AM. A $75 entry fee includes golf, golf cart, range balls, two beverage tickets, steak dinner and chances at raffle prizes and hole events. For more information, call 715-824-4569.

Pie and ice cream social at Rising Star Mill

The 15th annual Pie & Ice Cream Social will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Rising Star Mill in Nelsonville. Serving will begin at 9 AM.

As in past years, the menu will include pie, ice cream, coffee, lemonade and water. Your hardest decision will be choosing from the 20+ varieties of homemade pie!

The women of Nelsonville Lutheran Church are proud to serve their fresh baked pastries in the historic mill located on the banks of the Tomorrow River. The Rising Star Mill, a National Historic Register site, is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Come experience its unique atmosphere.

Tomorrow River to present Family Fun Fest

On July 4, Tomorrow River Lions/Lioness will hold a Fourth of July event at the Amherst Fairgrounds. Schedule is as follows:

11AM – Vintage and Special Interest Car Parade
11AM – Chicken Dinner
11AM – Beer ansd Soda Stand Opens
11AM – 1PM – Free Children’s Activities
DUSK – Fireworks

Quilt Exhibition at Rising Star Mill

NELSONVILLE — The Norske Needlers Quilt Guild will sponsor a quilt exhibition on Saturday, July 14th at the Rising Star Mill in Nelsonville. The exhibition will run from 9 AM to 4 PM.

This event is free and open to the public.
The guild is delighted to display the handiwork of its members in this historic structure on the Tomorrow River. The Rising Star Mill is a National Historic Register site and is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
A demonstration of loom weaving will also be given by local fiber artists.

Library to hold annual book sale July 20-21

STEVENS POINT — The Portage County Public Library will hold its annual book sale at the Main Library in Stevens Point on Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21.

“This sale gives a second life to many items and it’s always fun to find something you didn’t expect,” said Alison Wirth, Librarian. “The proceeds from this sale help the library provide resources and activities to the public.”
Patrons can purchase gently used books, DVDs, CDs, and other items at the sale from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Friday and 8:00 AM to noon on Saturday. Patrons should enter and exit through the outside doors of the Pinery Room.
