Caro Ann Jochum, age 92, of Stevens Point, died June 13, 2018 at the Portage County Health Care Center while surrounded by her loving family.

Caro Ann was born on September 24, 1925 to the late Richard and Bergetta (Wick) Boyington in Chinook, Montana. She attended schools in Great Falls, Montana but moved to Stevens Point, WI at the age of 18 with her parents.

She worked for Montgomery Ward, Hardware Mutual Insurance (Sentry), Singer Sewing Center where she taught sewing, and she worked for the Commission on Aging as a Meal Site Manager.

Caro Ann will be remembered for her love of family and devotion to her church. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Stevens Point for 74 years. Caro Ann was always very active in church: she was the wedding planner for many years, worked at planning potluck suppers, the “Lilac Girls” every spring, belonged to the UMW, and sang in the church choir for over 40 years. Caro Ann was one of the original members of the Sweet Adeline’s Barbershop Chorus. She also belonged to a Barbershop Quartet called “The Mother’s Four”, The Twilight Music Club, and League of Women Voters. In her spare time she enjoyed to sew, cook, read, garden, collected cookbooks and children’s books and singing.

She is survived by her loving family, Kathleen (Jim) Tessmer, Karen Cameron, John (Diane) Jochum, Julie (David) Chitharanjan, Lisa Jochum, Tom (Lisa) Donahue, and Tina Hopkins; grandchildren, Bryan (Kelly) Tessmer, Christopher (Dawn) Cameron, Brendon (Jan) Cameron, John B Jochum, Wendy Jochum, Zachary Wolfe, Jacob (Megan) Fredrickson, and Christine (Robert) Kuehl; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by John (Jack) Jochum, her husband of over 50 years; parents, Richard (Dick) and Bergetta Boyington; 2 brothers, Buddy and Robert; and 3 sisters, Helen, Beulah, and Ruth.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2018 at St Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Hintzman presiding. A time of Visitation will precede from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the ceremony at the church.
