The Central Wisconsin Men’s Golf League headed east to Iola to tackle the Glacier Wood golf club this week.

After a tough day at Lake Arrowhead the week before, scores for the most part came back to normal this time out.

The league played two matches for each team, with Hilltop Too beating Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint, as well as the blind draw. Big Apple Bagels won a pair, beating Jordan Bar and Point After/Cozy Kitchen.

Also winning twice was Midwest Hardware, as they took down Point After/Cozy Kitchen and Rookies Sports Pub, while Partners Pub knocked off Hilltop Pub & Grill and Hacker Backers.

Rookies defeated the blind draw and Hilltop Pub & Grill beat Jordan Bar, while Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint took down Two Harps.

Top individual scores were recorded by Tom Habel with a three-under par 68, Jim Berg and Jim Brummer at 76, Tom Shafranski 77, Garry Curless 78, and Jay Nordland 79.

Low net scores came from Habel at 67; Berg and Nordland at 69; Mike Roberts and Jim Brummer at 70; Jim Gruba and Garry Curless 71; Tom Shafranski, Randy Iwanski and Barry Thompson 72; Kyran Knutson, Bernie Prutz and Rick Pacyna 73; Brian Steffen, Tim Simonis, Charlie Spaar, Scott Gile, Jeff Blankschein and Jim Mosey 74; and at 75 were Ken Manske, John Haka, Bob Prosch, Dan Newhouse and Tom Domaszek.

Skin winners included Randy Iwanski with three skins, while earning one each were Mike Disher, Tom Shafranski, John Haka, Barry Thompson, Scott Krueger, Todd Rice and Gary Kedrowski.

With two weeks to go in the first half of the season, Hilltop Too is leading the standings by a half point over Midwest Hardware. They are followed by Big Apple Bagels, Rookies Sports Pub, Badger Heating/Rice’s Paint, Jordan Bar, Two Harps, Point After/Cozy Kitchen, Hacker Backers, Partners Pub and Hilltop Pub & Grill.

The league will head to the Chain of Lakes area to play at Foxfire this week, with another double match in a battle for prize money two weeks from now.
