City Band plans fourth concert of the season

STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point City Band, under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski, will present its fourth concert of the summer season on Wednesday, June 27 at 7:00 PM in the Pfiffner Pioneer Park band shell along the Wisconsin River.
“A Musical Delight For A Summer Night” will be the theme as the band plays a variety of music that is perfect for a lovely evening in the park. Selections will include “Caribbean Rondo”, “It Had Better Be Tonight”, “Blue Mist Beguine”, “Stevie Wonder in Concert”, “Jazz It Up!” and “Albanian Dance”. The music of Jacques Offenbach will be highlighted in “Ballet Parisien”, and the concert will conclude with Rossini’s “Barber of Seville Overture”. “Belle of Chicago” by Sousa will be the music for the weekly children’s march.
Michele’s Restaurant and Catering of Stevens Point will provide food for purchase before and during the concert. Concerts are free and held Wednesday evenings through August 1. Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the gymnasium at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 1919 Wyatt Avenue, Stevens Point.
