Obituary: Agnes D. Slowinski

Age 93 of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at home Monday afternoon June 18, 2018, surrounded by her family she loved so dearly. She was under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. Agnes was born on January 21 1925, in the town of Alban. Agnes grew up on her parent’s farm in the town of Alban. Her parents were Nicholas and Elizabeth (Wycza) Szymanski. After WWII her family moved to Stevens Point.

Agnes attended P.J. Jacobs High School graduating in 1943. She married Walter Slowinski on May 23, 1950, at St. Peter Catholic Church.

After being a full time mother and home maker, Agnes worked at CAP Agency and later at Sentry Insurance retiring in 1990. Agnes loved being with her family, she enjoyed polka dancing, visiting the casino, playing cards and watching the Green Bay Packers.

Agnes is survived by her children, Thomas (Nadine), Gregory (Janel) and Joan (James) Egan.

Four grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie), Matthew (Amanda), Jay Egan and Kerry Egan. Four great-grandchildren, Francesca Slowinski, Sophia Slowinski, Clara Slowinski and Graham Slowinski. Also survived by one brother, Leonard Szymanski, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by, her husband Walter and an infant sister, Teresa.

A special thanks for the care, compassion and treatment from hospice and her home care worker, Peggy Wierzba.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday June 26, 2018, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the St. Faustina room at the church. Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point is honored to be serving the family.
