Sale of Catalyst Biron mill finalized

Richmond, B.C. – A deal has been finalized for the sale of Biron-based, Canadian-owned, Catalyst mill to Nine Dragons Paper in Hong Kong. for $175 Million.

The following statement was released by Catalyst Paper President and CEO Ned Dwyer regarding the sale:

“We’ve completed the sale of our Rumford, Maine and Biron, Wisconsin mills along with our operations center in Dayton, Ohio to ND Paper. I want to thank our employees, whose dedication and effort led to a significant  improvement in the performance of the Rumford and Biron mills and the Dayton operations center,” said Dwyer. “I also want to thank the communities of Biron, Rumford and Dayton for their support of Catalyst Paper.”

The Biron facility employs over 400 people, and other mills included in the sale are located in Maine and Ohio.
