STEVENS POINT –Surgical Associates, S.C., is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Jeremy Olson, MD, General Surgeon, to its medical staff.  In August, the Stevens Point native will begin practicing with Dr. William Wilfley and Surgical Associates’ experienced team of providers at the Stevens Point outreach clinic, located at 5409 Vern Holmes Drive.

Dr. Olson graduated from the University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point with a bachelor of science. He received his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin—Madison and completed his general surgery residency at Geisinger Health System, Danville, PA. His areas of special interest include robotic and minimally-invasive surgery, pancreatic surgery, complex hernias, endoscopy and non-narcotic, yet aggressive, peri-operative pain control.

“Throughout my education, I’ve gained a broad exposure to a wide array of complex surgical diseases, an appreciation for the role of technology in surgical disease, and an awareness of how important it is to set expectations,” said Dr. Olson.  “It is vital patients are heard, understood, educated and compassionately cared for throughout their medical experience.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Olson back to Stevens Point to serve the community in which he was raised,” said Mike Murphy, Surgical Associates’ Chief Operating Officer.“Patients should feel at ease with his expertise in cutting-edge surgical technology and the compassionate demeanor he brings to the job.  Dr. Olson believes strongly in keeping his patients informed and collaborating with them throughout their entire surgical experience.”

Dr. Olson will begin seeing patients at Surgical Associates’ Stevens Point outreach clinic on August 27, 2018. Patients are now being accepted. Appointments can be made by calling 1-888-278-3795.
