The Portage County Historical Society would like to publicly thank Margaret Myhra and her family for the $30,000 donation from her estate.

Mrs. Myhra passed away November 24, 2017 at the age of 91. She was involved in a number of local service organizations, and had made previous donations to PCHS of military and veteran documents regarding her husband, Norman Myhra, who was the Postmaster in Stevens Point for many years.

The funds donated will go toward numerous projects advancing PCHS’ goal of educating the public about the unique history of Portage County.

“We could not exist in the capacity we do without the generosity of people like Mrs. Myhra,” said PCHS President Tim Siebert said of the donation. “It is an honor to accept her thoughtful donation to the Portage County Historical Society continuing her philanthropic legacy.”
