Janet L. Soik, age 56, of Plover, died July 6, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Janet was born May 3, 1962 to Donald & Helen (Haas) Walter in Stevens Point, WI. She was raised in Stevens Point, attended local schools, graduating from SPASH in 1980. Following graduation, she went on to earn her Cosmetology license. She then attended UWSP where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1985.

She married William H. Soik on December 27, 1990 in Stevens Point, WI. She dedicated her life to working alongside her husband on the family farm for 28 years.

Janet will be remembered for her gentle nature and enduring heart. She had a great love for her cats; over the years she spent joyous times with her kittens and cats on the farm. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, dining out, and going for long convertible rides in the summer with Bill. Janet loved spending childhood summers with friends and family at the family cottage on the Chain O’Lakes in Waupaca, WI.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bill of Plover; 3 sisters, Sandra (Dale) Siewert of Green Bay, Ann (Allen) Harmsen of Bozeman, Montana, and Barbara (Jeff) Peterson of Stevens Point; and dear friend, Bonnie Worzella.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Portage County. Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net
