Obituary: Barbara A. Maes

Barbara A. Maes, age 87, of Plover, passed away Monday July 9, 2018 surrounded by her family at Whispering Pines-Lodge in Plover.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday July 13, 2018 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church.  Rev. Jeffery Hennes will officiate.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Friends and family will gather to share memories from 9:30 Friday morning until the time of services at the church. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family

Barbara was born in Avalon, Wis. on September 9, 1930, the daughter of Wesley and Helen (Orfa) Loiselle.  She grew up in Genoa City and graduated from high school in 1948. She earned her Teaching Degree from UW-Whitewater.  Barbara married Edward Maes on June 27, 1953 in Whitewater.  She taught school for a couple of years as the family moved to various cities for Ed’s career.  The couple settled in Stevens Point in 1966.  She worked at JC Penney from 1973 until her retirement.

She enjoyed playing cards, going out to eat, socializing with friends, and was an avid Packer fan.
Barbara is survived by her children; Helen (Richard) Kopycinski, Joliet, IL, Kathy (Rich) Stanke, Plover, Nancy (Roy) Rozner, Plover, Jerry (Sharon) Maes, Stevens Point, Mary (Kevin) Raflik, Plover, Joe (Carol) Maes, Rosholt.  18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, Father and Mother, Wesley Loiselle & Helen Loiselle-Robinson, Stepfather; Arthur Robinson, and infant grandson John E. Maes, son of Jerry and Sharon.
