Obituary: Morris L. Fountain

Morris L. Fountain age 66, of Stevens Point formerly of Amherst passed away Sunday morning July 8, 2018 under the care of Ministry Home Hospice at Willow Brooke.

Friends and family will gather to share memories from  10:30am    until  11:00am   on  Saturday, July 14   at Shuda Funeral Chapel 3200 Stanley St.  Full military honors will be performed at the funeral home at  11:00am .

Morris was born February 15, 1952 in Marshall, MI, the son of Lawrence and Laura (Passmore) Fountain.  As a child the family moved to Salem, AK where Morris graduated high school. He served his country, entering the United States Navy on August 27, 1970.  He served as a gunfire control technician, and earned the National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal.  He was honorably discharged on August 20, 1976 from Great Lakes, IL.  Morris married

Dyane Maruska on January 8, 1972 in Palatine, IL, after his discharge the couple settled in Amherst.  Morris worked for many years at the Worth Company after earning his journeyman electrician degree from Mid-State.   Until the time of his illness he was working at Batteries Plus.

He enjoyed gardening and working with computers, and had a great sense of humor. He was hard working, and generous. He was a selfless man who always put the needs of others before his own, and found joy in loving his family. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Morris is survived by his two daughters: Renee Fountain (Eric Lass); Andrea (Zac) Johnson; two granddaughters:

Brinley Johnson and Jade Lass.  Three brothers: David (Mary), Dale (Marilyn), and Lawrence.  He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
