Obituary: Alfred G. Beaulieu

Alfred G. Beaulieu, age 68, of Stevens Point, died July 8, 2018 at the Portage County Health Care Center.

Al was born November 4, 1949 to the late Alfred and Mildred (Guthu) Beaulieu in Stevens Point, WI. He grew up here, attended Jefferson Grade School, and graduated from Emerson High School.

Al was inducted into the US Army on September 9, 1971. He served with the 87th Infantry in Germany, the 4th Infantry, and the 22nd Infantry. During his time of service, he earned a National Defense Medal, a Drivers Badge, and a Marksman Badge. After a long-dedicated service to his country, he was honorably discharged on October 3, 1977.

After being discharged, Al returned to the Stevens Point area where he began working for Wysocki Farms as a general laborer. He later became employed at Del Monte Foods and ran a field picker. Al also drove the follow truck for Steenburg Homes until becoming fulltime at McCain Foods. He later transferred to Ore-Ida.

Al will be remembered for his sociable nature and friendly persona. In his earlier years, he loved to fish. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing board games, bingo, assembling 3D jigsaw puzzles, solving word searches, and attending family events and outings.

Survivors include his siblings, Pearl Paulson, Mary Newby, Gladys Schick, Joyce Beaulieu, and Eugene Beaulieu; daughter, Amy (Josh) Lesniak; son, Brian Beaulieu; 2 grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gary Larson; nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Larson; and 2 young sisters.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. Joshua Baumann presiding. A time of visitation will precede at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held in McDill Cemetery.
