STEVENS POINT — In the last week of June, residents were encouraged to vote in a contest to win the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County $5,000. It was announced yesterday that these efforts were not in vain.

The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County garnered the most votes in this time, winning them $5,000. According to Thirvent, “this charitable donation will allow them to continue to encourage, empower and feed the youth at their Boys and Girls Club branch in Stevens Point”

Our other participating Thrivent Choice organizations walked away with the following prizes in charitable donations:

Second Harvest Food Bank – $2,500 Second Place Winner
NAMI – $1,000 Third Place Winner
Prayz Network – $750 Fourth Place Winner
OneFest – $500 Fifth Place Winner
