Photo: Plover DAR chapter crafts Christmas trees for military members

PLOVER — Members of the Plover Nay-osh-ing chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, met again on June 9 to craft additional 12” artificial Christmas trees for the men and women in the military.
When all said and done, 41 trees were finished, bagged and ready to be boxed with hand knit or crocheted wool helmet liners and personal items such as tooth brushes, and Christmas cards to send to family.
Trees From Home is a non-profit organization and its purpose is to send Christmas Packages to soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. The cost to mail one box is approximately $30. The Trees From Home goal is to raise enough money to ship 2,500 boxes this year [2,500 x $30 = $75,000].
