Giving Gardens of Portage County joins groups around the world in the painted rock craze

STEVENS POINT — On Saturday July 14th the Giving Gardens of Portage County in collaboration with the
Hunger & Poverty Prevention Partnership will host a family-centric rock painting event at the Stevens Point
Farmers Market.
This interactive, fun event is aimed at increasing community engagement and awareness of the Stevens Point area community Giving Gardens. This event is free and open to the public. WHO:
The Hunger & Poverty Prevention Partnership (HPPP) is a partnership of individuals and organizations in the public and private sector whose mission is to proactively identify issues of hunger and poverty and to address them with short- and long-term solutions. The Giving Gardens of Portage County is a committee within HPPP that helps fight hunger by developing and tending community gardens and donating the harvest to individuals and families in Portage County struggling with resources for healthy food options.
WHAT:
The Giving Gardens of Portage County is launching the ‘Giving Gardens… Giving Rocks!’ traveling kindness rocks campaign to engage the community in a creative invitation to visit the community Giving Gardens and increase awareness of the program by hosting a rock painting event.
