Art comes out of the shadows at UW-Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT –Sculptures, paintings and other collected works of art that are rarely on display are part of a new exhibit at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Edna Carlsten Art Gallery.
“Seldom Seen: Selections for the UW-Stevens Point Permanent Art Collection” will be on exhibit until Wednesday, Aug. 15, and features work by well-known artists, students, faculty and alumni. The gallery, located in the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point, is open daily from 1-4 p.m., free of charge.
Among the artists is alumnus Dana Knutson, http://www.danaknutson.com/, best known for artwork in role-playing game products. Selected works by Carlsten and former faculty member Dick Schneider will be featured in the Schneider Student Gallery, located inside the Carlsten Gallery.
