STEVENS POINT — Individuals who wish to vote early in the Partisan Primary may now vote in-person. Voters are reminded to bring proper photo identification.

City Clerk John Moe said voters have two options for voting absentee.

-The first option is to vote in-person. Beginning Monday, July 16, voters can vote at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall. The office will be open on the following dates and times for in-person absentee voting: City Hall, 1515 Strongs Ave. – 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, July 16 through August 8 – 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday through Friday, August 9 through August 10

-The second option voters have is to submit a written request/application to have an absentee ballot sent to them. Requests to receive an absentee ballot by mail must be received by the Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9. The completed ballot must be received by Election Day, Tuesday, August 14, in order for it to be counted.

Some examples of acceptable Photo IDs include a Wisconsin Driver License, Wisconsin State ID, Wisconsin Driver or State ID receipt, U.S. Passport or Card, U.S. Uniformed Services ID, Tribal ID, Certificate of Naturalization, University or College ID that is voter ID compliant. University or college students who do not have an acceptable form of photo identification for voting purposes can contact their school administration to obtain a voting compliant ID card.

Clerk Moe reminded residents who have either moved or changed their name that they will need to re-register before they will be allowed to vote.
