The Stevens Point Horseshoe Club will host the Stevens Point Open horseshoe tournament at Mead Park this weekend.

The Stevens Point Open is a sanctioned horseshoe tournament and will run Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Participants from all over the state are registered for the second-year tournament, which has grown considerably since last year.

Nearly 70 horseshoe pitchers will compete in the event, which is counted as one of the qualifiers for the 96th Wisconsin State Horseshoe Tournament in Mosinee Labor Day Weekend.

Admission for spectators is free, and food and beverages will be provided on site.
