STEVENS POINT — Audition dates have been announced for Central Wisconsin Area Community Theater’s upcoming fall production, Mary Poppins, directed by Tana De Lonay.

Auditions will be held at Sentry Theater, 1800 Northpoint Dr., on Monday, Aug. 20 and Tuesday, Aug. 21, 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Check-in time is 6PM. Registration forms will be at the bottom of this article for online registration, though paper forms will be available at the time of auditions.

Auditionees will sing their song and perform their monologues in the individual solos, with a group dance audition at the end of the night. Auditions will run in individual 5-10 minute, closed time slots. Pre-registration audition forms/audition sign-up now available through the following link (*Google account required for sign-in)

Audition Info:

Ages: Auditions open to those 8 years of age and up.

Vocal Audition: 30 seconds-1 minute song selection of your choice NOT from Mary Poppins that best suits your voice and shows off the vocal range/fits the role that you are auditioning for. A capella auditions accepted; we strongly prefer a piece with music accompaniment and will provide an accompanist at auditions. Music is not required to be memorized, but we welcome memorized pieces.

Acting Audition: 1-3 minute monologue NOT from the musical that best suits the range and characterization of the role from the show that you are auditioning for. Again, this does not need to be memorized, but we do encourage memorized pieces.

Dance Audition: Group dance audition after individual solo auditions are over.

Callbacks: As needed at Sentry Theater on Wed. Aug. 22, 6:30 PM. Callbacks will consist of cold reading selected sides from the show, individual vocal auditions with songs from the show, and individual/small group dance auditions. Sentry Theater is located at 1800 Northpoint Dr.

Getting Cast in the Show: *All auditionees will receive a phone call regardless of whether or not they’ve been cast, notifying them of the casting team’s final decision. These calls will be made throughout Aug. 23-24.

First Rehearsal: Mon. Aug. 27 at 6:30 PM at the Shack. *All parents of minors cast in the show invited to the first rehearsal as well.*

**If you are unable to make in-person auditions**

We strongly recommend all auditionees sign up for an in-person time slot on the audition dates; however will consider video auditions for individuals who would be traveling from a significant distance away on a case by case basis. If you are interested in this option, please email Tana De Lonay, the artistic director, at [email protected]
