Obituary: Virginia G. (Gertrude) Kwiatkowski

Virginia G. (Gertrude) Kwiatkowski, ge 90, died early Saturday morning, July 21, 2018 at Maple Ridge Assisted Living in Plover.

Virginia was born November 27, 1927 in Iola, WI. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Katherine (Suchon) Wanta. She attended local schools in Rosholt. Her marriage to Joseph L. Kwiatkowski took place on June 17, 1945 at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point, moving to the Plover area in 1956, then settling in the Amherst area in 1968.

Her husband Joseph preceded her in death on September 14, 1978. Virginia was a member of the St. Mary’s of Mt. Carmel Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, reading, working puzzles and doing embroidery and crocheting. She enjoyed taking walks and was an excellent cook.  In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to the Huss Fund at Bell Tower Residence in Merrill, WI.  She is survived by her children; Lawrence (Beverly) George of Phoenix, AZ., Diane (Leonard) Witscheber of Merrill, Randal (Pat) Kwiatkowski of Amherst, Elaine (Dennis) Czlapinski of Stevens Point, Kenneth (Diane) Kwiatkowski of Amherst Junction, Daniel (Martine) Kwiatkowski of Stevens Point, Julie (Paul) Kliegl of Plover, Paul (Trish Feldman) Kwiatkowski of Amherst. Fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Further survived by one sister Christina Nitka of Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, a daughter Darlene Kropidlowski, six brothers and four sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s of Mt. Carmel of Fancher Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:30 A.M. Tuesday morning at St. Stephens Church until the time for mass.
