STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (SPACVB) have welcomed a new staff person, Hannah Klein. Klein, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, has been named the Outreach Coordinator for the bureau.

Hannah Klein graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2016 from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. She brings to the SPACVB enthusiasm and a hospitality background, working in customer service and sports prior to her time at the bureau. As a lifelong resident of the Stevens Point Area she enjoys hiking the trails, enjoying local craft beverages and fishing the Wisconsin River.

The Outreach Coordinator position was added in 2018, the first new staff position in nineteen years. The Outreach Coordinator will lead local marketing efforts and acts as the principal liaison between the SPACVB and its tourism and hospitality partners. As part of her role, she will also develop and coordinate special events, presentations, seminars and partnership promotions within the community.

“It’s exciting to welcome Hannah to our staff,” said Sara Brish, executive director of the Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “She will be making connections within our community to better understand what is going on with our stakeholders and local businesses.”

The Stevens Point Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is an economic and community development organization whose purpose is to expand Portage County’s economy by attracting conventions, sporting events and leisure tourists to Portage County. Millions of dollars from visitor spending and increased tax revenues are generated to increase commerce, sustain jobs and to create a desirable destination.
