Baumgartner leads All-WVLL Team
Plover Black Sox catcher Derek Baumgartner was named to the First Team on the 2018 Wisconsin Valley Legion League (WVLL) All-Conference Team.
It was the second year in a row on the First Team for Baumgartner, who will play baseball at NCAA Division II Winona State (Minn.) in the spring.
Plover outfielder Logan Schulfer was named Second Team All-WVLL.
Stevens Point Sixers outfielder Legend Kieliszewski and utility player Griffin Firkus were both named Second Team All-WVLL.
A week earlier, Baumgartner and Plover shortstop/pitcher Brett Ehr were named to the AAA State Tournament All-Tournament Team, after they helped the Black Sox finish fourth at state this season.
Also on the First Team All-WVLL this season were first baseman Donovan Brandl of Wisconsin Rapids, second baseman Logan Matson of Marshfield, shortstop Ryan Krueger of Marshfield, third baseman Grant Hill of Wausau, outfielder Brody Gehrke of Merrill, outfielders Caleb Kromenakker and Josh Zwicke of Wisconsin Rapids, utility player Cody Urban of Antigo, pitcher Ethan Peters of Wisconsin Rapids and pitcher Jake Brueggen of Marshfield.
