STEVENS POINT — The Knights of Columbus 4th degree assembly #1216 presented a check to the Stevens Point Police Department’s K9 fund on Aug. 8.
The check was presented in the amount of $575 at their monthly meeting in Stevens Point. Officer Luna, one of the
two new police dogs and the handler officer JD Ballew as well as assistant police chief Mike Rottier were on hand to receive the check.
Through the combined effort of St. Bronislava council #13880 and Stevens Point council #1170, the Knights raised the funds by holding a brat fry at the Stevens Point Copps on June 16.
“The cookout was originally scheduled for April 14, but the good Lord saw fit to dump 3 feet of snow…so we rescheduled it and it was very successful.” said police commissioner Bob Ostrowski.”
