Police identify person of interest in Church Street attack

STEVENS POINT — A local man arrested for burglary and criminal damage has also become a person of interest in the July 1 attack of a woman on Church Street.
According to a police department press release, On Aug. 6, at approximately 10:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to 2210 Madison St. for a damage to property incident. A 52-year-old male reported the windshield of his 2004 Chevrolet Malibu had been shattered which was parked at the residence.
A 20-year-old female, also residing at the residence, further reported their house had been entered without consent or permission and her cell phone had been stolen. A possible suspect was identified as the reporting female’s boyfriend.
At approximately 1PM, Detectives responded to the aforementioned address, and located the suspect, Nayver Nardi Bravo Morales (08-20-1996, 5’05, 156lbs), at 2208 Madison St.
Nayver was found to be in possession of the female’s phone that had been stolen earlier in the day. The phone had been bent and the screen was shattered. Nayver was arrested for the burglary and damage to the phone. Nayver was interviewed at the Stevens Point Police Department and admitted to damaging the windshield of the vehicle by striking it several times with a rock that had been located at the scene.
Nayver was arrested on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property and theft. Nayver was present for his initial court appearance and was then detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. (I.C.E.)
Note: An on-going investigation has identified Nayver as a person of interest in a substantial battery case involving a 28-year-old female victim, reported July 1, 2018. The victim of the assault was attacked while walking home from downtown Stevens Point.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approx. 5’05”, thin to medium build, short hair and wearing a dark blue shirt.
