PLOVER — Kwik Trip will celebrate truck drivers as they kick off ‘National Truck Drivers Week’ today.
From Monday, Sept. 10 through Friday, Sept. 15, daily events will be held to thank truck drivers for their daily efforts.
On Monday, State representative Katrina Shankland (D-Stevens Point) will be present a plaque from the state to local truckers in a show of appreciation. On Tuesday, the location will hold an emergency vehicle display.
Wednesday, dubbed “Big Rig Wednesday” will see local dealerships show off their latest and greatest semi-truck models. Private owners are invited to bring used semi-trucks with ‘for sale’ signs. Other events on Wednesday include representatives from “Mother Trucker Yoga”, which is a group that focuses on exercises drivers can do to relieve stress on the road.
In addition three racing semis from the “Bandit Big Rig Series” will be on display, as well as a driver’s job fair. Major trucking companies have confirmed that they will be present during this fair. On Thursday, a large car, motorcycle and ATV show will be held.
“The intent of these events is to get as many people as possible around a trucker to be able to thank them for what they do,” said David Trickle, Events Organizer for Kwik Trip Store #202. “Truck drivers deliver everything we eat, drink, work with, play with and even sleep on. Without truck drivers what would our lives be like?”
You can show your appreciation for truck drivers at the Plover Kwik Trip, located at 5339 Harding Ave.
