STEVENS POINT — A 33-year-old local man was sentenced to three years in prison on Monday for injecting drugs into books for inmate use.
According to reports, in January of this year, an investigation was launched into the possible delivery of illegal substances to inmates by then 32-year-old Plover resident, Christopher Orlowski. On Jan. 17, various books were delivered to an inmate, with another inmate’s name written on the inside.
There were faint yellow water marks located in the binding on certain pages. Through a recorded phone call between Orlowski and the inmate, police would find that certain pages were marked “the down” while others were marked “the up”.
After these pages tested positive for methamphetamine, Orlowski allegedly admitted that he would use a syringe to inject either heroin or methamphetamine into the binding of the books, then dry with a hair dryer.
