A Reason to Shop, Share & Socialize to Support Local Women & Children

STEVENS POINT – The Women’s Fund of Portage County is hosting its annual fundraiser, A.R.T.S. Night (A Reason to Shop, Share and Socialize), on Thursday, October 11, from 5 – 8:30 pm at the Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Stevens Point. The night features a variety of art for sale, silent auction, light buffet, live music and cash bar.  Special feature this year is a display by the Star Point Quilters Guild.

The A.R.T.S. Night raffle includes a First Prize of a 14k yellow gold pendant with a South Sea Pearl, gold chain included ($1,000 value) donated by jewelry designer, Brody Rice, of Brody Designs. Other raffle prizes include a 55 inch curved color 4K UHD TV, a Wi-Fi 128 GB iPad, and several MasterCard gift cards amounting to over $500.  Raffle tickets are being sold by Women’s Fund board members (1 for $10 or 3 for $20).

This year Joan North is the featured artist. North was an artist at the very first A.R.T.S. Night many years ago and has participated every year since then.  She also served on the Women’s Fund board as President.

In addition to Joan North, there will be over 30 unique artists and three Cottage Gallery vendors participating in the 2018 A.R.T.S. Night. The artists’ work includes many different mediums such as wood, silverware, pottery, blown glass, paintings, quilts and jewelry.  The Cottage Market section also has offerings of homemade pies, natural soaps, lotions, lip balms, body butters and teas. All artists generously donate 25% of their sales from A.R.T.S. Night to the Women’s Fund. In its sixteenth year, A.R.T.S. Night generates charitable funds for grants given annually by the Women’s Fund to community groups providing services to local women and children throughout Portage County.

Support from sponsors also helps offset costs so that 100% of the event proceeds go directly to grants that help women and children who are in need in our community. Thank you to our 2018 A.R.T.S Night sponsors: Exclusive Sponsor – Mark Toyota, Elite Sponsors – BMO Harris Bank, Delta Dental of Wisconsin and Furniture & ApplianceMart, Premier Sponsors – Regnier Consulting Group and Simplicity Credit Union.

A.R.T.S Night tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets are available at the following locations: Beyond Ordinary, Girls in Pearls, Ski’s Market, Regnier Consulting Group, Inc., Robin’s Nest Gifts, Mission Coffee House, Bria Bell & CO, Community Foundation and the Stevens Point Area YMCA or at the Women’s Fund website.
