Eugene V. “Gene” Moss, age 87 of Stevens Point, died on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Ascension St. Claire Hospital in Weston. Gene was born on August 14, 1931 in Stevens Point, the son of Erwin and Irene (Emery) Moss.  He attended and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High school.  Eugene was united in marriage to Jean Walkush on April 7, 1956 in Stevens Point. Gene worked at Whiting/Plover Paper (Neenah Paper) prior to retirement.  He was a 12 year veteran of the WI Army National Guard.  Eugene was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, Msgr. McGinley Council #1170, a 30 year Usher at St. Stephens and a 60+ year member of the Stevens Point Barber Shoppers.  He sang bass in the “Yesterday’s News” of the Northern Gateway Chorus.  He enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, camping and especially tossing horseshoes.  Eugene’s greatest joy was being with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by; his wife, Jean; children; Brenda Moss of Plover and Bruce (Tami) Moss of Pewaukee; grandchildren, Jeremy, Keith and Scott (Jill) Moss; three great-grandchildren, Melody, Caden and Brody; brothers, Richard and Larry (Lucy) Moss; sister, Ruth (Roger) Meyer; along with numerous other relatives and many friends.   He was preceded in death by; his parents; sister, Connie (Vern) Alm; and sister-in-law, Donna Moss.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Church at 11:00AM on Friday, September 21, 2018 with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz presiding.  Private family burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Pisarski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM on Thursday, September 20, 2018 concluding with a Rosary at 7:00PM.  Visitation will continue at the church from 10:00AM until the time of the Mass.
