For the City Times
STEVENS POINT – As part of the Youth Appreciation Project, the Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club has honored Oliver Lind, sixth Grader from Washington Elementary with the September Youth of the Month Award.
Oliver is the son of Nyra Lind and Ben Lind.
Oliver was nominated by his teacher because of his positive attitude and for his hard work. He is an optimistic student not only in the classroom but in the school community. He is always smiling, brings joy to the classroom daily, and is willing to work with any of his classmates and they enjoy working with him. Oliver is involved in football, basketball, baseball, golfing and curling.
“He is always ready to greet you in the morning with a smiling face, stated Trish Hagstrom, his teacher at Washington School”. “Oliver is a role model for other students in his class and at Washington School”.
The Stevens Point Noon Optimist Club has been honoring local youth through Youth Appreciation for many years. Youth Appreciation is the most popular program sponsored by clubs throughout Optimist International, with more than 2,000 clubs participating each year.
