Pacelli Catholic Schools announced Friday, Oct. 5, that John Schurk will be the new head coach for the Pacelli Catholic High School boys basketball team. His responsibilities will include overseeing the entire basketball program, from middle school through high school.  Schurk has been an assistant coach in the  SPASH program for the past eight years.

John’s coaching philosophy  is ‘to provide a positive, hard-working learning environment for players to grow as young adults and contribute to society while accomplishing their goals in life,'” said Larry Theiss, Pacelli  Catholic High School Administrator. “This focus on developing young men is an important aspect that fits well into the Pacelli program.

“John did exceptionally well through the interview process,” he said. “Throughout the process, he demonstrated his eagerness to begin working with the young men throughout the program and to continue to build the tradition of Pacelli basketball.”

Schurk and his wife Tiffany reside in Stevens Point.
