STEVENS POINT — Public works officials are moving forward on the 2019 street reconstruction projects.

These projects include various streets in the west central portion of the Stevens Point area. These projects also include replacing the existing sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer systems.

At a cost of $137,910, the project will be headed by Gremmer & Associates, Inc., out of Stevens Point. Below is a list of coming street improvements:

Sixth Avenue, Second Street to Union Street
Fifth Avenue, Second Street to Pulaski Place
(not including Union St. intersection)
Third Street, Fourth Avenue to Sixth Avenue
Meadow Street, Fourth Avenue to Fifth Avenue
Pulaski Place, Franklin Street to Fifth Avenue

Project bids are not slated to be finalized until February of 2019, with construction beginning in the spring. The project is contingent on the 2019 capital budget.  The project will likely see a final approval through October’s common council.
