Obituary: Leonard F. (Frank) Gagas
Leonard F. (Frank) Gagas, Of 425 Fifth Avenue, Stevens Point died early Tuesday morning, October 9, 2018 at the Portage County Health Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
Age 90 Leonard was born December 5, 1927 in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Piotrowski) Gagas. He attended Madison School in Polonia. His marriage to Grace Wroblewski took place on June 19, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point, and just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
His wife Grace survives. Leonard worked for F.F. Mengel for many years retiring in 1989. In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date. Leonard loved to drive around town in his 1970 Orange Chevy Truck. He enjoyed cutting grass, blowing snow, picking mushrooms and listening to polka music, and loved dogs. Leonard was always willing to lend a hand to those in need and expected nothing in return. Survivors include his wife Grace, one son Kenneth (Lisa) Gagas and his granddaughter Brittany (Jeremy) Spencer. Further survived by one brother Raymond (Dorothy) Gagas.
He was preceded in death by one brother Anton. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 12, 2018 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. Friday morning at the St. Faustina room of St. Peters Church until the time for mass.
