Obituary: Violet R. Kawleski
Violet R. Kawleski, age 91, of Stevens Point, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Portage County Health Care Center with her loving daughters at her side. During the past year, she resided at Brookdale Senior Living. She was born on July 23, 1927 to Joseph and Susan (Knitter) Knich in Portage County and raised on the backwaters of the Wisconsin River. Violet attended St. Casimir Grade School and helped on the family farm.
On November 8, 1947, she was united in marriage to Raymond H. Kawleski at St. Casimir Catholic Church. He preceded her in death, October 1, 2010. As well as being a homemaker and raising their children, she was employed for many years at Normington Laundry and Dry Cleaning. Violet was a member of St. Casimir Church and Christian Women’s Society and a 50+ year member of the Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education (HCE) as well as serving as the local chapter Treasurer.
She loved to travel with Raymond, reading, cooking and her flower garden. Her greatest joy was being with her family, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by; her four daughters, Patricia (Tom) Mrozinski of Mosinee , Mary (Chet) Dombrowski of Stevens Point, Bonnie (Elroy) Ziolkowski of Stevens Point, and Peggy (Mark) Mason of Port Charlotte, FL.; six granddaughters, Jenny (Jeff) Tewes, Becky (Don) Kulinski, Beth Rydberg, Sarah (Paul) Gwidt, Nicole (Lance) Kropidlowski and Megan Ziolkowski; two step-granddaughters, Emelia and Aubrey Mason; 10 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Meta, Isaac, Lucy, Juniper, Kade, Layla, Landyn, Glen and Leo; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; one grandchild, Paul Mrozinski; one great-grandchild Kaya Rydberg; her siblings Conrad, Forrest, Eugenia, Germaine and Gregory. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 203 Casimir Rd, Stevens Point, at 10:30AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 with Rev. Don Przybylski officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
A visitation will be held at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second Street, Stevens Point, on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5:00PM-7:00PM concluding with a Rosary service at 7:00PM and at the church from 9:30AM until the time of the Mass on Saturday.
