Obituary: John Francis Mosey, Sr.

John Francis Mosey Sr. 97,affectionately known as Punch, passed peacefully in his sleep Sunday October 14, 2018 at his home  Stevens Point.
Born in Stevens Point August 19th 1921 to Helen(Kolvakowski), and Steve Mosey. John was the youngest of six, Emil, Clifford, Andrew, Arlene(Marjamaa) and Janet(Coldwell).. He is preceded in death by his parents, all siblings and one daughter, Kathleen.
John was first employed as a delivery man for a local grocer in Stevens Point. In 1941 he followed his father and brother to work for the Soo Line and worked the last passenger train from Chicago to Stevens Point. Punch continued to work on the Soo Line in freight service retiring in 1982. During those years, Punch also opened a bar on Stevens Point’s north side and worked as an appliance repairman for Sears.
In 1946 John married Catherine Love and they had 7 children. He is survived by his wife and 6 children.  John(Mary), James(Janice), Thomas(Gail),Patrick(Karla), Ann,  and Andrew.  Punch is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
During his 97 years, Punch loved fishing, camping, hunting, golf, poker nights, and was one of the founding members of the Central Wisconsin Model A Club.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 24th, at 1100 a.m.at St. Stanislaus Church of the Holy Spirit Parrish, 838 Fremont St. Stevens Point Wi.  The Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family.  For inline condolences, please visit www.HonorOne .com
