Library to celebrate a century of the Green Bay Packers
Portage County Public Library will celebrate the 1st century of the Green Bay Packers
All-ages event will look at the first 100 years of the Green Bay Packers
STEVENS POINT — On Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1:30 PM, the Portage County Public Library (PCPL) will host Packer historian and author Jim Rice for an hour long program that looks at the first 100 years of the Green Bay Packers.
Equally important to the games, are the entertaining stories from Packer fans that Rice has collected from as far back as 1919. After the presentation, which will include memorabilia and photos, audience members can share their stories.
In 2010 after the Packers won Super Bowl XLV, Jim rediscovered his love of football history and the Green Bay Packers. After completing his first book, Jim has been writing and speaking about Packer history ever since and currently has four books on the team. He also has a website at packerscentury.com.
The program will be held in the Pinery Room of the Stevens Point branch and is free to the public and no registration is required. There will be prizes for the attendee wearing the best Packer outfit.
