Both the Amherst High School and Almond-Bancroft High School football teams were in action for WIAA Level 2 Playoff games Friday, Oct. 26.

Three-time defending State Champion and third-seeded Amherst went on the road and won 37-19 at second-seeded Cedar-Grove Belgium (9-2) in Level 2 of the Division 5 Playoffs to improve to 9-2 on the season and advance to the State Quarterfinals.

Top-seeded Almond-Bancroft (9-2) fell 17-7 at home to fourth-seeded Pittsville (10-1) in Level 2 of the Division 7 Playoffs.

Amherst will be on the road again next week to take on reigning Division 6 State Champion and top-seeded Fond du Lac Saint Mary’s Springs (11-0), which won 33-20 over fourth-seeded Omro (9-2) Friday night.
