Obituary: Stanley “Jr” Chojnacki

Stanley “Jr” Chojnacki, age 86, of Stevens Point, died October 24, 2018.
Stan was born on July 21, 1932 to the late Stanley & Lillian (Firkus) Chojnacki Sr. in Green Bay, WI. He grew up in Stevens Point, attended St. Peter’s grade school.
He married Theresa Slawinski on August 30, 1952 at St. Alexanders Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI. They were happily married for 66 years.
Stan enlisted in the US Army on December 10, 1952. He spent 16 ½ months in Korea, receiving a Korean Service Ribbon with Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and a Merit Unit Commendation. He was honorably discharged on October 27, 1954.
Stan owned a auto salvage yard, was a diesel mechanic and was a produce and flower farmer. He was also the manager for the Wausau Farmers Market. He was a usher at St. Stan’s for 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed farming, family, listening to polkas, auto racing and spending time fishing.
Survivors include wife, Theresa of Stevens Point; children, Dennis of Stevens Point, Ronald of Rosholt, Robert of Stevens Point, Lisa (Scott) Lindholm of Davenport, IA, and John (Courtney) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Kelsey, Alison, Jordan, Ryan, & Heather. He is further survived by brothers, Florian (Shirley) Chojnacki and Louis (Lorraine) Chojnacki; and sisters, Marge Glodowski, Theresa (Ernie) Daniczyk, Patricia (Mike) Nord, and Rosalie Chojnacki.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley & Lillian (Firkus) Chojnacki; brothers, Francis, Henry, Leonard and Jerome; and sister Mary Ryckman.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at Holy Spirit Parish with Rev. Donald Przybylski presiding. Visitation will be held at Boston Funeral Home on Sunday, November 4 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with the rosary to conclude. Visitation will also precede the funeral on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial with full military honors will be held at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
