STEVENS POINT  – The Women’s Fund of Portage County hosted its 16th annual fundraiser, A.R.T.S. Night (A Reason to Shop, Share and Socialize), on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at the Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Stevens Point.

A.R.T.S. Night is the largest fundraiser for the Women’s Fund of Portage County. Over 250 attendees enjoyed shopping for a variety of art, a raffle, silent auction, light buffet, live music from students of the UWSP Music Department as well as a few community soloists and a cash bar.

This year Joan North was the featured artist. North was an artist at the very first A.R.T.S. Night many years ago and has participated every year since then.  She also served on the Women’s Fund board as President.

In addition to Joan North, there were 37 unique artists that participated in the 2018 A.R.T.S. Night. All artists generously donated 25 percent of their sales from A.R.T.S. Night to the Women’s Fund. In its sixteenth year, A.R.T.S. Night generated over $30,000 of charitable funds which will go directly to grants given in 2019 by the Women’s Fund to community groups providing services to local women and children throughout Portage County.

Support from sponsors also helped offset costs so that 100% of the event proceeds go directly to grants in 2019.
