STEVENS POINT —  Portage County, in partnership with Owner’s Representative, ICS Consultants, Inc. and design partners BWBR/Dewberry, will be hosting the second of three open house events to provide education and gather citizen feedback regarding various aspects related to the design and construction of a new County Government Facility.

At the April 24, 2018 Portage County Board of Supervisors meeting, a resolution authorizing an agreement with BWBR/Dewberry was approved to begin design and engineering services for the construction of a new Government Facility. At the Oct. 16, 2018 County Board meeting a resolution was adopted to add a new Law Enforcement Center to the scope of the project.

The open houses are being held as part of the County and design firms desire to educate and include citizens and other interested parties in the process regarding the building project. The first open house was held on June 6, 2018

The second open house is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 at 6pm in Conference Rooms 1 & 2 of the Portage County Annex, located at 1462 Strongs Ave.

According to county officials, the focus of this meeting will be on updated design options for site master plan. Discussion will also be on the benefits of combining the Government Center and Law Enforcement Center projects into a single project.

A future announcement will be made about the date, time, and location of the final open house.

Any questions pertaining to this project should be directed to Portage County’s Procurement Director, Calvin Winters, at 715-346-1393 or by email at [email protected].

Any person who has special needs and plans on attending this meeting should contact the Purchasing Department at 715-346-1241 as soon as possible to ensure that reasonable accommodations can be made.

A quorum of any given Portage County committee including the County Board and the Executive Operations Committee may be present at this meeting.
