Obituary: Lucille L. Anderson

Lucille L. Anderson, age 97, died October 31, 2018 at the Lodge of Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Plover, WI.
Lucille was born March 25, 1921 to the late Fred and Dorothea (Monroe) Plante in Chippewa Falls, WI. She grew up there and attended the local schools.
She married Cecil Anderson on February 3, 1940 in Waukon, IA. They lived many years in Eau Claire, WI where they volunteered as house parents for Homme Home for Boys in the late 1950’s. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. Lucille and Cecil eventually settled in Stevens Point, WI in 1960. The couple enjoyed volunteering as a host family for foreign exchange students through UWSP. Lucille and Cecil opened HIS Christian Books and Gifts in 1976. They operated the store until the time of Cecil’s death in 1989.
Lucille worked a variety of jobs and volunteered for several charitable organizations. She had a strong faith and enjoyed being involved in church ministries. Lucille was a member of the Hummakers at Trinity Lutheran Church. She became a devoted parishioner at Highland Church and was the first woman to be elected to the board of deacons. She enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus, Bible studies, counseling, prayer groups, traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Robert (Sharleen) Anderson, Timothy (Cathy) Anderson, and Susan (Mike) Ross; grandchildren, Linda, John, Noell, Ashley, John, Katelyn, and Annie; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and her faithful church family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil Anderson; and brother, Ronald Plante, who died in Italy during WWII.
Her family would like to thank the staff at The Lodge of Whispering Pines, Inclusa, and Heartland Hospice for their loving care and support.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Highland Church in Plover, WI. A time of Visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Friday, November 16th at Boston Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Traditional Christian burial will be held in Forest Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial at the church.
