Letter: Vote YES for school referenda

To the Editor:

Our house is 105 years old this year. In the forty-five years we have lived here, we have had three new furnaces, two new water heaters, two new roofs, a number of replacement windows and added central air. All these items were expensive and most  required us to borrow large sums of money. None-the-less, our home has remained very livable. A few, but not many minor issues occasionally get deferred, but not for long.

The Stevens Point Area School District, however, has many maintenance issues that have been put off for way too long. The cost to fix these is steep but will only increase if they are ignored. We all need to pull up our socks, go to the polls and vote for the two referenda. Our area students deserve nothing less.
