Obituary: Cordelia D. “Corky” Cychosz

Cordelia D. “Corky” Cychosz of Stevens Point, died early Saturday evening, November 3, 2018 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King where she resided for the past two years. Age 92 Cordelia was born October 12, 1926 in the Town of Stockton.

She was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Lepak) Dzikoski. She attended local schools and graduated High School from P.J. Jacobs. Her marriage to Stanley B. Cychosz took place on August 31, 1946 in Stevens Point. After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband Stanley, of 72 years, survives. Cordelia worked for Sentry Insurance for a number of years. Cordelia was a 50 year member of St. Peter’s Rosary Society, the American Legion Post 6 Auxiliary and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing bingo.

Her most precious time was being with all of her family. Survivors include her husband Stanley, her six children; Mary (Pat) Clifford of Chandler, AZ, Terry Cyan (Special Friend Diana) of Thornton, CO., Thomas (Marilyn ) Cychosz of Stevens Point, Tim Cychosz (Special Friend Sandy) of Waunakee, Wi, Roy (Kay) Cychosz of Stevens Point and Andy (Sandy) Cychosz of Mosinee, WI.  She is also survived by her 12 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, one Brother Eugene (Sylvia) Dzikoski of Madison, sister in laws Agnes Katzmark of Stevens Point and Loretta Bannach of Milwaukee, and a brother in law Ron Kennedy of Appleton, WI.  She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Zakrzewski – Niekamp. Brother in laws  Bernie Zakrzewski, Paul Niekamp, Chester Cychosz, Ed Omernik , Alfred Bannach and Dave Katzmark. And her sister in laws Irene Omerinik, Sophie Kennedy and Mickey Cychosz. Mass of Christian Burial will on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 838 Fremont Street, Stevens Point. Rev Steve Brice officiating. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Church until the time for mass.  A memorial will be established in Cordelia’s name for the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. The Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point is honored to be serving the family.
