City Times Staff
STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby will hold its monthly meeting at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, November 10, in the visitor center of Schmeeckle Reserve, 2419 Northpoint Drive in Steven Point.
New members are always welcome.
The purpose of CCL is to create the political will for a stable climate. To do this CCL members write letters and meet with members of Congress and their aides. CCL also sponsors public lectures.
Members will discuss recent events and plan future actions. This monthly meeting will include a teleconference with Dr. Anthony Leiserowitz, director of the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, about their latest polling on Americans’ views about climate change and solutions like carbon pricing.
Dr. Leiserowitz is an expert on public opinion and public engagement. His research investigates the psychological, cultural, and political factors that influence environmental beliefs, attitude, policy support, and behavior.
