Obituary: Gertrude Ksionsk
Gertrude Ksionsk, age 96, formerly of Whiting, passed away Sunday morning November 5, 2018 at St Michaels Hospital. She currently was residing at the Atrium in Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday November 9, 2018 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in WI Rapids. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 9:00 – 10:15 AM on Friday at the church before Mass. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Gertrude was born January 29, 1922 in the Town of Stockton, the daughter of Martin and Rose (Gosh) Kruzitski. She married Edmund Ksionsk on August 10, 1940 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. The couple lived in Milwaukee after marriage until Edmund was honorably discharged from the service. They settled in Whiting and raised their family. Gertrude worked as a nurses aide at the Portage County Home and later at the St Joseph Convent Infirmary until her retirement. She was a member of the St Peters Rosary Society, enjoyed fishing with her family Up North, jigsaw puzzles, baking for family and friends, dancing – especially polkas, attending church picnics, and trying her luck at the casino.
