STEVENS POINT — The Stevens Point Fire Department Explorer Post 242 will be accepting applications for membership into Emergency Services Explorer Post to fill open membership spots. The application packets can be picked up at the Stevens Point Fire Department Headquarters located at 1701 Franklin Street starting Monday, November now.

All applications must be returned to the Stevens Point Fire Department by Friday, November 30th at 6:00pm. The Explorer program is designed to allow young adults who may be interested in a career in emergency services to gain valuable experience learning about all aspects of emergency services.

Young adults, ages 15 – 21 from the City of Stevens Point and surrounding area are eligible to attend. Post meetings will include presentations and hands on learning in firefighting, EMS and other emergency response skills and tactics. The post meetings will be held once a month with other various activity dates throughout the year.
