SPASH’s Franz and Willis, Rosholt’s Rzentkowski named All-State

A trio of area runners were named to the 2018 Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association (WCCCA) All-State Team.
Senior Chad Franz of the Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) boys cross country team was a First Team All-State selection after he finished 15th overall at the WIAA Division 1 State Meet at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids Oct. 27.
Franz finished with a time of 16:05.9 to help the Panthers place fifth in the team standings.

Senior Adam Rzentkowski of the Rosholt High School boys cross country team was named Second Team All-State after he placed second in the Division 3 State Meet with a time of 16:15.2.
It was the second consecutive second-place finish at state for Rzentkowski, after he placed fourth as a sophomore, to lead the Hornets to a State Runner-up finish this season.

Freshman Roisin Willis of the SPASH girls cross country team was a First Team All-State selection, after she challenged for the State Title.
Willis placed fourth overall in the Division 1 State Meet in 18:30.3, to help the Panthers finish 11th in the team standings.

Meanwhile, the SPASH boys cross country team was recognized as Academic All-State by the WCCCA.
