Obituary: Prosper (Jim) F. Kluck

Prosper (Jim) F. Kluck died peacefully at San Camillo Retirement Community, Wauwatosa, WI on November 19, 2018 at the age of 94.

Prosper was born on September 29,1924 in Marshfield, WI to Prosper and Stella Kluck.  He attended P.J. Jacobs

High School where he met his future wife, Shirley nee Lillie. He graduated from McGill Institute in Mobile, AL.  He then attended The University of Notre Dame until he enlisted in the Army (Air Force branch) in WWII on March 22, 1943. He was a member of the 379th bomb group where he was a navigator on a B-17.   He was honorably discharged after 27 combat missions over Nazi Germany and then returned to Notre Dame.

He left Notre Dame to join his father and brother in the founding of Kluck Construction Co. in Stevens Point, WI.  During those years he was President of the Wisconsin Road Builders Association in 1967, and he was also elected as a director of the Contractors Division American Road Builders Association.

Prosper is survived by his children, Kathy (Wally Sikorski), Tom (Joan), Steve (Meg), Karen (Mike) Bell and Chris (Kelly).  Grandchildren Kristin, Ryan, Rob, Mary, Ellen, Tess, Genevieve, Sara, Keely, Samie, Abbi, and Andrew. Great grandchildren Norah, Lily, Stella, Connor, Maggie, Henry, Teagan, Calum, Ridley and Mara.  He is further survived by his brother Robert, sister-in-law Betty and niece Susan.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Shirley.

Prosper lived a life dedicated to his family and his faith.  He was active in the Stevens Point Area Catholic School System and his home parish of St. Stanislaus where he was Director of the Finance Committee for a number of years. He was President of the Catholic Social Services Advisory Board in Stevens Point and was later named a director for the Diocese of La Crosse Advisory Board. In addition, he was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1170.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Holy Spirit Parish, formerly St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 838 Fremont Street, Stevens Point, WI from10:00 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.  Burial with full military honors to follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Pacelli Catholic Schools.
